What happened
This channel presents itself as a scam-protection service for more than 13,000 subscribers. Its own bio says, word for word: 'Sponsored by @rainbetcom - rainbet.com', a no-KYC crypto casino in the sponsor's own ad copy, and every verdict post carries that casino ad with the channel's referral link. The operation spans the channel, a report site (scammer.gg, caution.gg), and a report bot.
The verdicts read: 'User @name has been marked as a scammer', one line, linked to a report page on their site. We audited the one verdict we could fully check. On Sep 1, 2026 the channel marked StarLedger, a working Telegram mini app for selling Stars, as a scammer. StarLedger is listed in our directory, its developer proved ownership with the bot's own token, and it holds a claimed Trustpilot profile rated 4.0 from 19 public reviews. Their complete case file for that verdict: a single complaint about a 6 dollar withdrawal said to be 7 days late, marked handled the same day, with no response from the accused and no investigation shown. Their own proof archive even includes the complainant's balance screen reading Withdrawn 6.08 of 6.08 earned, meaning the bot's records show the payout as made. On that file, a business's reputation was spent in front of 13,000 people.
We could audit this verdict because we know the target. Nobody can audit the rest, and that is the problem: when the one checkable verdict does not hold, every uncheckable one becomes a coin flip. And because the channel's declared sponsor is a casino and its verdicts cost nothing to publish, a fair question hangs over the whole list: who decides, based on what, and what else can buy a verdict? We cannot answer that. Neither can their subscribers.
